Three-phase Autotransformer 3x400VAC <-> 3x230VAC
The three-phase autotransformer is used to step up or step down voltage, but it is not isolated from the mains.
The main advantage of the three-phase autotransformer lies in its weight and dimensions, which are much lower than a standard transformer. This is possible because it has only one winding and the currents subtract in the part common to both voltages. These are dry-type transformers.
Autotransformers are reversible. This means you can reverse its connection. For example, a 400V -> 230V autotransformer is also a 230V -> 400V autotransformer. They are used in various fields, such as the railway sector or for adapting machine tools in industry.
The autotransformers comply with IEC61558-2-13 and IEC60076-11 standards.
They can be supplied in enclosed/cased versions, with protection ratings IP00, IP21, and IP54: Standard version on the site is in an IP21 enclosure.
