References

Guides
Advice from our technicians
Good to know
ABL Transfo, electrical transformer manufacturer since 1993
We have been making electrical transformers since 1993 in our workshop in Gailhan, in the south of France, between Nîmes and Montpellier. Our customers range from homeowners replacing the transformer of a gate motor or a pool light to electricians, manufacturers and engineering firms, in France and across Europe. They all want the same thing: the right transformer at the right price, and someone who knows the trade at the other end of the phone.
Buying direct from a transformer manufacturer also means knowing who wound your unit. Every product page shows the price of each rating, the voltages, the IP rating and the wiring, and we answer your questions Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm (CET), on +33 4 66 80 14 33.
From winding to dispatch: our workshop in Gailhan, France
All our transformers are made in Gailhan: single-phase, three-phase and toroidal transformers as well as autotransformers. Each one is designed, wound, wired and tested in our workshop before it leaves. Testing is not done on samples: no unit leaves the workshop without being powered up and checked.
Connections follow the same logic across the range: screw terminals up to 55 A, cable lugs above that. Our isolation transformers come with an electrostatic screen as standard, and thermal protection can be added on request. As a French transformer manufacturer, we list the voltages, ratings and wiring of every model on its product page.
1 VA to 1,000 kVA: the full range
Our single-phase transformers cover the most common needs: 230 V to 24 V and 230 V to 12 V for control circuits, automation, gates and lighting; 400 V to 230 V to supply a single-phase load from two phases; 230 V to 115 V for American equipment. Our three-phase transformers — 400 V to 400 V + N, 400 V to 230 V or 230 V to 400 V — isolate and adapt the supply of machines and switchboards: prices are shown online up to 100 kVA, and ratings from 125 to 1,000 kVA are quoted on request. Compact and quiet, our toroidal transformers serve low-voltage lighting, pools and audio, while our autotransformers change the voltage where isolation is not required.
Isolation, safety or autotransformer: which one do you need?
An isolation transformer electrically separates the load from the mains: it is the answer for a boiler that needs a clean neutral, for sensitive equipment or for a machine. A safety transformer also brings the voltage down to 50 V or less (safety extra-low voltage, SELV) for gates, pools and damp locations. An autotransformer is lighter and cheaper but does not isolate: it is the usual way to run a 120 V appliance from the United States on a 230 V supply. If in doubt, one of our technicians will help you choose.

Built to EN 61558
Our transformers are designed to EN 61558, the standard on the safety of transformers and power supply units. Part 2-4 covers isolating transformers; Part 2-6 covers safety isolating transformers, whose output does not exceed 50 V. Each product page states the part that applies and the protection to provide.
